Submit Your Mama's Story
The deadline for submitting stories for the 2012 production is now closed.
My Mama Monologues playwright and originator Pat Masumoto and her friends and family have been exchanging stories about their mothers for years. They have boasted, laughed hysterically, cried like babies, and expressed intense and mild frustrations... and concerns of a lifetime, and of the last hour.
We are looking for stories from every walk of life, gender, age, ethnicity and background for the 2013 production. It's not too early to submit your story.
Honest, raw, silly, tear-jerking, bittersweet, heroic: We're looking for true stories from real life experiences with your mama.
The process is simple.
1) Write your story or poem. A story has a beginning, a middle and an end.
2) Stories must be true stories about your mama.
3) Limit: 1,000 words or six minutes of voiced reading.
4) You must be willing to have your story edited to fit the MMM play reading format.
5) You may submit more than one story or poem each year about your "Mama."
6) Stories can be as short as a few sentences, as long as there is a purpose, a succinct story and a mama theme.
7) Go to the http://www.MyMamaMonologues.com/instructions.html review the submission process and to submit your story.
Note: Not every story may be chosen for the production.
